Heather’s background in technology, marketing, and social work made real estate the perfect career! When people are buying or selling a house, they are in transition and are handling large sums of money. That can be very stressful for people, and handling these transitions with skill and care is something that Heather takes great pride in. Her goal is for every customer of Cowford Realty & Design to feel confident, competent and stress-free as they handle their real estate transaction.
Heather also believes that people don’t just buy “homes.” They buy a lifestyle and they buy into a community. Her passion for building community is reflected in everything she does as a broker and owner of Cowford Realty & Design. Whether it’s supporting small businesses, educating buyers on all of the different neighborhoods that comprise Jax, or doing a video on one of our great local businesses, Heather believes that having a strong community around us makes life sweet and fulfilling.
In her spare time, Heather is on the board of several local organizations. She also stays crazy busy raising her two sets of twin boys and being a foster parent.
Fun Facts:
What’s one cause you’re passionate about?
Being a foster parent and doing whatever we can to help protect our vulnerable children. They depend on us!
Favorite restaurant in Jax.
Too many! With two sets of twin boys, we eat out a lot! Orsay. Southern Roots, Vale, True Food, Pattaya Thai and Sushiko.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
People Magazine (ssssshhhh, don’t judge)
Your absolute favorite spot in Jacksonville
More of a journey than a destination, but one of our favorite things to do is to pile up all the kids and drive down Heckscher drive to Fernandina Beach. We stop and get hot boiled peanuts, I prop my feet up and just soak in all of the beautiful scenery as we head over the intracoastal.
If you won the lottery, what would you do with your winnings?
Buy a huge family vacation home in the Blue Ridge mountains. I’d also start a non-profit that helps serve at-risk kids by pairing the family up with another family, providing mentorship, tutoring, scholarships, and counseling.
What is your real life superpower?
Wrangling two sets of twins.
What’s your favorite room in a house?
The dining room. It’s where everyone gathers for a meal, where homework, important conversations, and art projects happen. We have a huge 12-seat table and I love it!
